Within my role of Director of Culture and Wellbeing, I have spearheaded the revamp of employee onboarding and orientation at MeTEOR. Historically, onboarding was minimal and we wanted to change that. In addition to creating a full week of welcome activities for new employees when they start, I also created branded materials and packaging and our “green box” that include welcome gifts, a personal note, swag, books, and HR resources. The added bonus is that since so many employees onboard at headquarters but then return home to work remotely the box can be shipped back for them, or shipped to their door if they do start remotely. This helps new team members feel included in the culture from day one.
